NBTHK Juyo Token

Together with Masamune and Norishige, Yukimitsu evolved the Soshu Tradition established by his teacher Shintogo Kunimitsu to its apex. It is believed Yukimitsu was slightly elder to Masamune, and many of his works display close influence from Shintogo Kunimitsu with a straight Suguha Hamon. However historical sword documents note that he had a particularly wide range of styles from Suguha to Notare and Hitatsura.
Among documented swords by Yukimitsu, this piece is one of the largest produced in Hirazukuri style, and draws parallels to similar unique works Awataguchi Kuniyoshi who worked in the same period.
This remarkable Wakizashi is in good condition with a base displaying a slightly pronounced Itame grain including Jinie and Chikei, and a Hamon incorporating Notare, Komidare, Sunagashi, Kinsuji, and much Konie.
The accompanying Koshirae is bold yet elegant, incorporating fittings executed in Shakudo Nanako.
