The Sukesada smiths epitomized the Sue Bizen tradition, active in Osafune in the late Muromachi period. This piece displays a wide Hamon with broad undulating Gunome, Ashi, Yo, and rough Konie with Yubashiri. This remarkable work exhibits a refined Koitame grain with much Jinie and Chikei. The accompanying Koshirae conveys a sense of refinement, incorporating firefly motif fittings.
