The first generation Hamano Noriyuki was the apprentice of the famous Masayuki who founded the Hamano school within the Nara line of metalworkers in Edo, and his ability rivaled the second generation Masayuki. This piece depicts Kanu and Sekitoba in high relief with colored metal inlay, characteristic of the Hamano school, and underlines the skill of the first generation Noriyuki.
