Kokinko collectively refers to works created prior to the Azuchi Momoyama period where the artist or school is unidentified. Works include excellent pieces that rival the Goto School, Shoami, or Umetada.
This piece is a remarkably detailed execution of a phoenix done in gold Takabori on a Shakudo Nanako base. Together with the gold rim, the work conveys a refined elegance.
